This atmospheric former 17th Century ‘Coaching Inn’ is today fully modernised. The individually styled en-suite bedrooms include a flat-screen TV, a hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and free Wi-Fi. Guests can enjoy a relaxed dining experience with traditional English dishes all prepared using locally sourced produce. Relax n the homely bar with its log fire and occasional entertainment, or enjoy a stroll around the village.

Harrogate Christmas Market (18-21st November) is a very large event with about 200 stalls, including chalets and market stalls of various sizes plus a large Crafts & Gifts Marquee offering quality merchandise with a Christmas-theme. There will also be a Santa’s Grotto with live Reindeer. Buskers will play seasonal music each day. This high quality upmarket event with a traditional Yorkshire theme has won several awards for the best tourism attraction. Harrogate also attracts many visitors to see the Christmas Lights and enjoy the town’s excellent gardens and shopping.
York St Nicholas Fair (from 18 November) is at the very heart of Christmas activities in York, voted as the most festive city in the UK. Festive chalets stand down Parliament Street, one of the busiest streets in the centre of York and home to some of its biggest high street retailers and banks. St Nicholas Fair also stretches across the city to St Sampson’s Square home to world-class street food, plus there’s a host of indie shops across the city. Local flavour fills York’s Shambles the market itself you can find a host of independent traders, along with Thor’s Tipi, the cosy canvas hang-out will return where you can warm up with a hot chocolate or something a little stronger.
Halifax Piece Hall is situated in Calderdale's largest town of Halifax which has one of the most complete Victorian townscapes in Britain. The Grade II listed Town Hall is the work of Sir Charles Barry the designer of the Houses of Parliament. Halifax is also home to the truly unique Grade I listed Piece Hall which is the only remaining Cloth Hall in Britain. This building has undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment and reopened to the public on Yorkshire Day, Tuesday August 1st 2017.
Skipton - The ‘Gateway to the Dales’ unique appeal lies in its happy marriage of olde-worlde charm and the hustle and bustle of a market town which has evolved naturally over the centuries and consequently retained its many historic features. With its canal and thriving shops, pubs and cafes, Skipton provides something for everyone. You may choose to visit Skipton Castle (payable locally) which is over 900 years old and is one of the most complete and best preserved medieval castles in England. If the castle is not for you, then simply wander down the many alleyways, or 'ginnels', to savour the town's history and character.
Grassington - A picturesque village in the heart of ‘Calendar Girls’ country in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. In addition to being your base for this tour, a festive afternoon tea style light lunch is included on one day.
Saltaire was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 2001. This town is named after Sir Titus Salt who built a textile mill, known as Salts Mill. Designed by architects, Lockwood and Mawson, Salts Mill was opened in 1853. Your visit begins in the United Reform Church with an entertaining introduction about the origins of the village by costumed guides interacting with each other. You will then be accompanied on a gentle meander of the village during which you will see some of its magnificent public buildings. There will be free time in the adjacent Salts Mill home to one of the largest collections of David Hockney art, where you can also explore the various independent shops.
Wentworth Garden Centre is set in sixteen acres of lawns and beautiful gardens and is breathtaking seasons round. Throughout the winter months, the garden centre adds a whole new dimension to Christmas, selling everything for the tree and home for the festive season. It has to be one of the most enchanting and comprehensive displays for many a mile with a collection of unusual gifts and decorations from around the globe.
