Sample Itinerary

Day 1 - An afternoon mini coach tour of some of Jersey including St Brelade’s Bay and the Fisherman’s Church.

Day 2 - A 30 minute train ride along the promenade to the picturesque harbour town of St Aubin. Boarding the 'SOUTHERN BAY ROSE' for a 2.5 hour boat trip off the southern coast of Jersey. You will see Castles & Old Forts dating back to the 6th century, Dead Man's Bay & Towers & Gun emplacements left behind by the occupying German forces after the Second World War. A buffet lunch can be arranged on board if required. Samarès Manor Garden, and a guided tour of the manor house. This house and gardens were created in the 1920’s by millionaire shipping magnate and philanthropist, Sir James Knott. Samarès Manor’s herb garden, one of the most comprehensive in Europe, was the inspiration of internationally renowned garden designer and author, John Brookes.

Day 3 - The Jersey War Tunnels. Discover what the Occupation was like from the perspective of all those who lived through it; visit the War Trail to see how nature is reclaiming land once used as an artillery battery; sit in the Garden of Reflection and contemplate those islanders killed during the conflicts. St Matthews Glass Church, where the glass front doors are the first clue to its name. Even these fail to prepare its visitors for what lies beyond them, namely the luminous creations of Rene Lalique which gives St Matthew’s its more popular name – the Glass Church. Afternoon at leisure in St Helier - recommended is a visit to the Maritime museum and the Occupation Tapestry.

Day 4 - Guided visit of Elizabeth Castle, built on a rocky islet in St Aubin's Bay which defended Jersey for more than 300 years. Work began on the castle in the 1590’s and it was home to Sir Walter Raleigh while he was Governor of Jersey. An island tour by mini bus including St Catherine’s Bay and the pretty harbour village of Gorey, home to Mont Orgeuil Castle. This castle protected Jersey against French invasion for 600 years with the French coast being just 14 miles away.

Day 5 - Optional excursion to Guernsey. Guernsey you will be met by our local minibus company who will take you on a Coast & Countryside Scenic Drive including St Martins Village & the Little Chapel, the high vantage point of Pleinmont Cliffs, the natural fishing harbour of Rocquaine Bay and the Martello Tower of Fort Grey, the glorious sandy beaches of L’Eree and Vazon, Cobo Bay and free time in St Peter Port.

Day 6 - Free time to do some last minute shopping or just relax in St Helier before returning to the UK.
