Day 1 - Dryham Park (NT), a fine William and Mary house set in 265 acres of ancient deer park which was built between 1691 and 1702 for William Blathwayt, William III's Secretary at State and at War. Rooms have changed little since they were furnished in the Dutch style with Delft China, Dutch Paintings, and fine 17th Century textiles.
Day 2 - A full day guided tour of Dartmoor, allows you to see some of the most picturesque areas of Devon. Visiting Bovey Tracey and the House of Marbles where you will have time to browse and enjoy a coffee. Sightseeing stops will be made at Moretonhampstead, Postbridge, Princetown, Yelverton and Totnes.
The Domesday Book village of Cockington is an idyllic village hidden in a deep valley just one mile from the bustle of Torquay. Here visitors find themselves transported to a magical land, so peaceful you can almost hear a pin drop. Narrow winding lanes open out onto beautiful chocolate box cottages, old English gardens and thatched gift shops.
Day 3 - The ‘Round Robin’ circular tour which runs through enchanting landscape between Paignton, Kingswear, Dartmouth and Totnes, and back to your embarkation point. Travel takes place on open-top buses, the charming Dartmouth and Paignton Steam Railway, and Riverlink cruisers along the magnificent River Dart, ensuring an unforgettable day out. Located in the heart of the ‘English Riviera’ Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway is arguably one of the most beautiful in England and boasts several steam engines including Goliath, Trojan and Braveheart, known to steam buffs worldwide.
Day 4 - Lacock Village in rural Wiltshire is famous for its picturesque streets, historic buildings and more recently as a TV and film location.
The Abbey, a National Trust property, is located at the heart of the village within its own woodland grounds, is a quirky country house of various architectural styles, built upon the foundations of a former nunnery. The museum celebrates the achievements of former Lacock resident, William Henry Fox Talbot, famous for his contributions to the invention of photography.
