Sample Itinerary
Day 1 -In Windsor board a river cruise boat for a lunch cruise on the Thames. Leaving Windsor Promenade, you will have excellent views of Windsor Castle and Eton College. After passing Windsor racecourse, the boat goes through Boveney Lock and passes Sutherland Grange, The Willows and Bray Film Studios. It then heads towards Oakley Court, Queen's Eyot and Monkey Island where the boat turns for the journey back to Windsor.
Day 2 - Wells in Somerset is like no other city in Britain. There is so much to see and do here including the great Gothic cathedral and the Cathedral Green which are the centrepiece for a complex of buildings and streets equally old and fascinating. There is also the moated and walled Bishops Palace with 14 acres of gardens Vicars Close as well as the fine architecture of the Market Place, linked to the Green by the curiously named Penniless Porch.
Tyntesfield NT is a fine Victorian country house created by one of England richest commoners, William Gibbs, who built his fortune on fertiliser. Spiralling turrets and pinnacles adorn the roof, ornate stone carvings and church-like windows complete the Gothic look, giving the feel of a mysterious, fairytale mansion. Terraced lawns give way to spacious parkland filled with hundreds of trees collected by the family, and a glorious walled kitchen garden beyond.
Day 3 - Bath is a unique city with hot springs, Roman Baths, splendid Abbey and its Georgian stone crescents, which have attracted visitors for centuries. Why not take advantage of The Mayor's FREE Guided Walking Tour leaves from the Pump Rooms by the Roman Baths daily at 10.30am. This tour lasts around 2 hours and is a general historical and architectural introduction to the Roman city of Bath.
Day 4 - Brunel's - SS Great Britain.This was the world first great ocean liner which was launched in 1843 to provide luxury travel to New York. This iron-hulled steamship revolutionised travel and set new standards in engineering, reliability and speed. Today Brunel's SS Great Britain is one of the UK most exciting museums and visitor attractions. Lacock village in Wiltshire, dates back to the 13th-century and remains largely unchanged over the centuries.
