Amalfi Coast, Sorrento & Pompeii

Located in the centre of Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi, this hotel enjoys an optimal position with breathtaking views over the Sorrento hills and the Gulf of Salerno. It is located just 10km from Sorrento and the main places of interest are all within easy reach. A bus service operates from the town to Sorrento on a regular basis (local charge).

Day 1 – Check-in at LGW by 7.15am for a direct flight to Naples (ETA 13.20hrs). You will be met at the airport for the transfer to Vesuvius where a light snack lunch is included with 4 different wines (bread, salami, cheese & spaghetti plate).

Entrance to Vesuvius is included (non-guided) where there will be free time to explore before continuing on to St Agata and the Montana Hotel, where dinner tonight is a set menu.

Day 2 - Full day Amalfi Coast + Positano - Accompanied by a local guide on a private coach we make our way to Amalfi, making a photo stop enroute overlooking Positano. Amalfi’s charm is kept intact all year albeit with variations in colours, scents and sensations. Just as the lemon groves vary each season in hues from green to yellow, characterising the mountainous profile on which the ancient village is perched, so the Amalfi experience is transformed, providing unique emotions throughout the year. Here there will be free time to explore at your leisure before taking a 20-mins ferry from Amalfi di Maiori to reboard the coach. Returning to the hotel via the scenic route, a hotel dinner is included.

This excursion includes a return minibus transfer hotel/Sorrento, Speedboat to Capri, a local tour guide + minibus transfers on Capri – all attraction entrances + lunch are payable locally. Every trip to Capri starts at Marina Grande, a vibrant tourist and commercial port of the island, from where there are amazing views of the Bay of Naples and the picturesque coloured houses. There will be the opportunity of visiting the Gardens of Augustus, a small oasis of colourful flowers and exotic plants overlooking the bay of Marina Piccola and the Faraglioni. From here, admire one of the most famous roads on Capri, Via Krupp, with its numerous hairpin bends. The promontory of Anacapri is where the Swedish doctor Axel Munthe decided to build his Capri house, Villa San Michele. Today it is a museum open to the public with its original furnishings and his collection of one-of-a-kind archaeological finds from the island. Stroll through the gardens which overlook the scenic panorama of the Bay of Naples. Returning by boat to Sorrento & onto the hotel where dinner is included.

Day 4 – This morning’s ½ day included excursion is to nearby Sorrento by private coach with an included guided walking tour. Like many Italian towns, much of Sorrento's charm is found in its cobbled side streets lined with boutique shops. Around every corner you will find lemon-themed memorabilia, restaurants and lemon gardens whose scent fill the air.

End your day at Marina Grande for a cocktail and fresh seafood dish as you watch the sunset over the glistening sea.

This afternoon you can either choose to remain in Sorrento, returning to the hotel by public bus, alternatively a coach transfer to the hotel is included around lunchtime. Dinner is at your leisure tonight.

Day 5 – Today is a completely free day when you can choose your activities. You may wish to join a local excursion to a Local Mozzarella Farm & wine cantine with olive press, where mozzarella is still made by hand – local cost applies.

Enjoy a traditional home-made Margherita pizza cooked in a wood-fire oven. See a demonstration on the pizza making process before trying this for yourself & cooking. Dinner is at leisure tonight.

Day 6 – Checking out of the hotel after breakfast, this morning begins with an included visit to Pompeii (private coach & local guide). Pompeii is an entire buried city with public squares, temples, baths, buildings, private villas, and shops. It is one of the most significant archaeological treasures in Italy where visitors come to admire the city frozen in time after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Pompeii is the most unique example in Italy of urban preservation from antiquity, where the streets, houses, temples and even graffiti have endured through the centuries, offering an invaluable glimpse into the daily life of a Roman city. Time permitting, there may also be a brief stop in Naples before transferring to the airport for the return flight to London.
