Whatever your craft passion it is the perfect place to find inspiration, learn new skills and shop for all your essential suppliers. There is a special demonstration area where experts will pass on their skills throughout the day. There are superb galleries from some of the UK’s most well-known textile artists and groups. York's Christmas markets have to be the most atmospheric in the country. York is a Christmas shopping heaven with its eclectic mix of shops as well as wonderful Christmas markets throughout York’s atmospheric streets! The festive shopping starts off with the ever popular St Nicholas Market. Here there is a sense of stepping into a scene from a Dicken’s tale, with bustling Victorian market stalls selling everything from local produce to traditional gifts and crafts, all accompanied by the smell of roasting chestnuts and the sound of carol singers. For unique presents from a different era head to the Medieval Market at Barley Hall. Be sure to try a pint of traditional ale or a glass of mulled wine at the Medieval bar!

Christmas at Castle Howard - For a truly magical start to Christmas, visit Castle Howard and explore one of Britain’s finest historic houses - with its awe-inspiring architecture, grand interiors and sweeping parkland - dressed for the festive season. Each sumptuous room will be decked with an exquisite collection of decorations, bathed by the glow of candle and firelight. Beautifully dressed trees sparkle with colour and imagination, whilst an abundance of floral, foliage and berry arrangements bring the outside in, adding a traditional touch to the festive interiors. Friendly and knowledgeable guides will be on hand to share the stories of the house and family, and invite you to rest a while as you enjoy live music performances. Afterwards, visit the festive covered market and browse the range of shops, including gift shops, farm shop and garden centre. With so much choice Castle Howard is the perfect place to do some Christmas shopping. Entrance not included within our package price.

A Guided Tour of the Yorkshire Dales including the Settle Carlisle Railway and the Wensleydale Creamery.
Accompanied by your guide, you travel to the pretty market town of Settle where you board the famous Settle-Carlisle Railway for your journey through some of the most spectacular Yorkshire National Park region. You will cross the famous Ribblehead Viaduct with its 24 arches before disembarking in Appleby. Re-joining the coach we drive to Hawes, known as the "little capital" of Upper Wensleydale, which is Yorkshire's highest market town. Not only is it famous for its chocolate-box, picture postcard appeal, but also as the home of some of the most delicious cheeses to be made in Britain. Lunch can be purchased at the Wensleydale Creamery or in the town itself before we retrace our steps through the spectacular Dales countryside with the stunning ‘3 peaks’ and pretty villages. The train journey is currently not included within our package price.

Ripley Castle with a guided tour. You will learn about the portraits, furnishings and armour and hear how 'Trooper Jane' Ingilby held Cromwell at gunpoint in the Library, how Sir John rebuilt the castle but lost his wife and how Sir Thomas saved the life of Edward III. The highlight of the tour is the Knight's Chamber, on the second floor of the Tudor Tower. Here you discover the secret priest's hiding place and hear all about the priests that once occupied it. The castle’s history is one of political, military, religious and social turbulence, of plague and persecution, of renaissance, enlightenment and industrial revolution. It is also a tale of romance, courage, loyalty and recklessness and there is no final chapter as the castle is still occupied. Entrance and tour are not included within our package price.

Eden Camp where you will be transported back in time to wartime Britain. You will experience the sights, sounds, even the smells of those dangerous years. This is no ordinary Museum - Not another Military Museum - Not a glass showcase Museum. Here they have reconstructed scenes using movement, lighting, sound, smells, even smoke machines to transport you back in time, to make you feel that you are there taking part in history. This special award winning Museum is an original Prisoner of War Camp built in 1942 and the fascinating displays hold, and reveal to you, the vital spirit which eventually triumphed in 1945. You will be able to purchase some lunch here, maybe a ‘Dambuster Stew’. Combine this excursion with Castle Howard or York. Entrance not included within our package price.

Christkindelmarkt in Leeds is one of the most established German Christmas Markets in the UK, with traditional wooden stalls, festive greenery, Christmas carousels and twinkling lights all creating a unique continental style festive atmosphere in the heart of Leeds city centre. Set in the stylish civic setting of the award winning Millennium Square.
