Sample Itinerary :
Day 1 – Departing your preferred pick-up point this morning, our journey takes us firstly to the riverside town of Henley-on-Thames, famous for the Oxford & Cambridge Regatta and home of the fascinating River & Rowing Museum, which is just a short walk from the town centre. You will have some free time here to explore and buy lunch and you may even choose to follow in the footsteps of Midsomer’s Inspector Barnaby, as the long running TV series Midsomer Murders has used Henley on numerous occasions as a film location.  Departing here, we continue on to Littlecote House Hotel where you will check in for your 4 night break. Dinner and entertainment is included tonight.

Day 2 – Today’s included excursion is to the historic City of Salisbury. With timbered buildings, an Early English Gothic Cathedral which is home to the famous Magna Carta, a thriving market, a buzzing arts scene, museums and some of England’s finest historic houses there are many things for you to explore during your free time here. Tuesdays is also Market Day when the hustle and bustle of the historic Charter Market fills the Market Place. Dinner is included at the hotel this evening, followed by an evening of entertainment.

Day 3Free day to enjoy the on-site facilities and activities or you may choose to pre-book our optional full day excursion to Blenheim Palace (subject to numbers).

Day 4 – Today, we offer a visit to the bustling market town of Devizes, where Thursday is one of their market days. You may choose to visit the landmark Wadworth Brewery whilst here, which dates back to Victorian times. This brewery site combines a tradition of craft with modern production techniques and systems. It boasts a free self-guided exhibition of brewing memorabilia, a unique collection of hand painted pub signs, and much more, there really is more to Wadworth than meets the eye.Their brewer's dray drawn by mighty Shire Horses is still a regular and much-loved sight on the town’s streets on a daily basis. One of the UK’s most iconic canals, the Kennet & Avon, passes through Devizes and for the more energetic, the famous flight of 29 locks are easily accessible on foot. Returning to Littlecote, we will make a brief stop in the historic town of Marlborough, whose High Street is one of the widest in the UK and is lined on both sides with characterful old buildings housing an array of high quality shops. Returning to the hotel, you will have time to freshen up and relax before this evening’s included dinner + entertainment.

Day 5 – Checking out of the hotel this morning we travel to nearby Swindon where you can either choose to visit STEAM, the Museum of the Great Western Railway which is housed in a beautifully restored railway building (entrance extra). Here you can explore the rich history of the GWR and hear about the extraordinary achievements by ordinary men and women during the Railway Revolution. You will meet life-like characters, including engineering genius Isambard Kingdom Brunel who created virtually every aspect of the GWR from London Paddington to Bristol and beyond. Alternatively, if you fancy a little retail therapy, you may choose to visit the Swindon Designer Outlet located adjacent to the museum.

An alternativeto visiting Swindon and the GWR Museum or the Outlet centre is a visit with free time in Oxford, known as the City of Spires, before retracing our steps to your original departure points later today.
