Sample Itinerary:
Monday Day 1: Departing your allocated departure point we travel to the coast for the short channel crossing to France. On arrival on the continent we travel north towards Holland, where you will board the cruise in Dordrecht. Your evening meal is included on board.

Tuesday Day 2: The boat departs Dordrecht this morning for Rotterdam whilst you enjoy a leisurely breakfast on board. Today’s included excursion by coach is to the Keukenhof Gardens, the international and independent showcase for the Dutch floricultural sector, with a special emphasis on flower bulbs. In the space of eight weeks, this park’s focus is on 7 million spring-flowering bulbs, which allow the 100 participating companies to show their living catalogue. Besides the spacious 32 hectares of flowers you can enjoy the spectacular flower shows, surprising inspirational gardens, unique art and wonderful events. Do not miss the Tulip mania exhibition in the Juliana Pavilion. A packed lunch will be provided today as you will not be on board at lunchtime. Having explored these spectacular gardens at your leisure, we return to the boat, where you can relax on board or maybe explore the City of Rotterdam before your evening meal onboard.

Wednesday Day 3: The ship departs Rotterdam whilst breakfast is taken on board. Our first stop today is at Kinderdijk, a UNESCO Heritage Site since 1997. For nearly a thousand years, the Dutch have been clever in dealing with the water that surrounds them. The sustainable blend of nature and technology used to keep Kinderdijk dry is so uniquely valuable that the area and its windmills were granted UNESCO World Heritage status. You will not find a windmill complex like Kinderdijk anywhere else in the world. The ingenious system of windmills and pumping stations has been keeping the soil dry here for nearly a thousand years, in a constant struggle between humans and the power of water. Experience this unique piece of history which is a genuine part of world history, kept safe for future generations to visit and experience. After a short stop here, the remainder of the day is a relaxing one as we head north on the waterways of Holland to the historic town of Hoorn, arriving mid-evening. Lunch, dinner and afternoon refreshments are included during today’s cruise.

Thursday Day 4: Breakfast on board whilst moored in Hoorn. Everywhere you go here, you will encounter the history of the powerful Dutch East India Company who sent their beautiful sailing ships to trade with Asiatic countries during the 17th and 18th centuries. This gives the town a special atmosphere and its history is not just visible in the old centre but it can also be seen around the harbour where time seems to stand still. You might however choose just to relax at a terrace cafe enjoying the local maritime atmosphere. Departing here late morning, lunch will be served on board before arriving in Enkhuizen. Here a visit to the Zuiderzee Museum is included which revives the stories of people who once lived on the shores of the Zuiderzee. See, hear, taste and smell everyday life around the Zuiderzee as it was before the Afsluitdijk (IJsselmeer Barrier Dam) changed the sea into the IJsselmeer in 1932. The Zuiderzee Museum is geared toward the history, the current situation and the future of this area and focuses upon the themes of water, crafts and communities. This story is visualized in the Outdoor Museum with historical buildings, and in the Indoor Museum withthemed exhibitions. Leaving Enkhuizen mid-afternoon our final cruise journey is to Zaandam, during which dinner will be served followed by a Captain’s ‘Farewell Party’.

Friday Day 5: Sadly after breakfast, it is time to disembark as we travel south through Holland and Belgium to Calais, making comfort stop(s) en route. Returning to the UK you will alight at your original departure point(s) this evening.

mps Lady Anne
From the spotless brass furnishings and smart uniform to the well-presented meals and sparkling glassware, Captain Wido & Jana run a tight ship aboard the mps Lady Anne and the crew’s attention to detail is second to none. Yet the atmosphere is one of relaxation and informality, with everyone quickly getting to know each other as you make yourself at home. Each day starts with a hearty buffet breakfast in the restaurant, where a buffet lunch and four-course dinner are also enjoyed and as evening approaches you can get together in the panoramic lounge to enjoy the entertainment. This is also a great place to relax, unless the sunshine beckons you up to the sun deck where you can sit back in a lounger as the waiter brings you a cooling drink.
