Sample Itinerary

Day 1 - Monaco & Monte Carlo - You travel to your hotel via this mythical place, between the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea. Explore the streets where the Monaco Grand Prix is held, visit the Place du Casino or meander in the harbour area where a multitude of millionaires’ boats can be seen. Facing the palace, you can visit the streets of Monaco Ville, Monaco Cathedral, the Oceanographic Museum or relax and take a break in one of the many restaurants.

Day 2 - Menton & the Lemon Festival -Sleepy Menton bursts into a riot of colour for this huge citrus-scented celebration.  See the huge constructions made of oranges and lemons in the Jardins de Bioves. This permanent Citrus Exhibition offers a tour around the cultures of the world through the fantastical fruit statues. What was once a few carts loaded with orange and lemon trees in the early 1930's, is on several days, a sprawling citrus carnival which attracts more than 200,000 people from across the world.

Day 3 - Arroscia Valley - The valley is known for its golden yellow Pigato white wine, whose grapes originated from a former Genoan colony on the Aegean sea. Other regional specialities include olive oil, peaches, garlic and chestnuts. See the many small towns in which there are numerous attractions and churches to be seen, such as the beautiful church San Lorenzo in Muzio. Visit the 'I megaliti del terzo millennio' by Rainer Kriester from 1982, which is a type of open-air museum near Vendone. Finish with a wine-growing presentation followed by tasting of local produce including hams, cheeses, olive oil etc and the tasting of three wines.

Day 4 Ventimiglia & San Remo - Visit the famous Ventimiglia Friday Market, known for its excellent food produce of all types and leather goods.  Take a guided tour of San Remo: Floral architecture and palm-lined boulevards, such as to be found in the Corso degli Inglesi and the Corso Imperatrice, stretch along the seafront with many shops and excellent restaurants. The Old Town is accessible  up steep lanes and is quite different from the glamour and bustle of the seafront districts. Visit the Casino, a white ornate palace with grand staircases and distinctive turrets. San Remo is also the centre of this coastline's flower production and the wholesale flower market at Mercato dei Fiori is a  lively engaging spectacle.

Day 5 - Diano Marina - An ancient tourist town with its palms, orange trees, and the smell of sea, the centre was destroyed by an earthquakein 1887. The subsequent reconstruction gave Diano Marina the typical look of a 1800 Riviera seaside town.

Day 6 - Cannes, Mougins, Grasse & St Paul de Vence -  Visit Cannes, where you will have some free time to explore at your leisure; and Mougins, a small village of artists and craftsmen, which is well known for its restaurants and gastronomy. Here you  can discover the medieval old town and the completely renovated museum of perfumes.
